Q. How do I import data from the same sample but stored in separate files as from HG-U133 A and B?

A. To load experimental data stored in separate files, such as results from different subchips, do the following:

  1. Select "Import Data" from the File menu.
  2. Browse to select one of the data files to be imported. Select the file format of this file.
  3. Select the corresponding genome for the file in the list of genomes provided, or create a new genome if one does not already exist.
  4. If necessary, define the columns of your data file in the Column Editor.
  5. Select all the other files you would like to import, including those that are from a different subchip as the first one.
  6. Check the box "Samples have multiple files" in the "Import Data: Selected Files" window, as in the example below:

  7. The next window allows you to merge the subchip files that belong to one sample. Control-click to select all the files for one sample and select "Merge Selected Rows":

GeneSpring will merge the selected files and display them on one row. Repeat this step for other samples.

  8. Click "Next" to continue loading your data as usual.
