Q. Can I import gene functional classifications as lists?

A. If you have created a set of gene lists saved in text tab-delimited format, organize them into folder hierarchies as you wish to import them in GeneSpring. Place the gene lists in the Gene Lists folder found in your genome folder (each genome folder is found under the GeneSpring data directory). Restart GeneSpring, and the text files will be converted into GeneSpring-compatible files.

NOTE: Each gene list document should only contain a column of gene names and, optionally, a column of associated numbers. No additional information will be readable to GeneSpring.
